Emergency communications
Staying in touch when power, telephone and mobile networks fail.
When nothing else works, radio still does
A blackout or other emergency can take down telephone, mobile and internet services within a short time. That is when alternative ways to communicate are needed – and amateur radio is one of them: independent of commercial infrastructure, with its own power supply and with people who know their equipment.
Our goal
- Building a simple emergency radio network in the Triesting valley and surrounding area.
- Portable, grid-independent equipment that is ready to go quickly.
- Regular practice so that procedures and technology work when it counts.
